Kucinich the Expander

Rep. Dennis Kucinch (D-O), one of the latest to join the Democratic presidential candidate throng, has broken new spinspeak ground with his explanation of his apparent flipflop on the abortion issue.

Kucinich, a strong “right to life” advocate for three terms in Congress, now says he favors “choice” after all. But don’t get him wrong. That isn’t a political flipflop. It is what Kucinich calls an “expansion” of his previous position.

Presumably, according to WSJ.com Opinion Journal, he has undergone another “expansion” in his thinking about Iraq.

Last year, he called for an end to sanctions because all they did was starve children. Now he thinks those kid-starving sanctions will do the job in lieu of military operations.
